Please keep rattling the cages of every party that forgets why they exist and what the underlying ethical principles of a democracy are.
They may tut and scowl but they need someone on their shoulders acting like a political Jiminy Cricket as they often act as if they don’t have a conscience of their own.
What all this amounts to is creeping Stalinisation where the self-styled 'elites' are hell bent on silencing individual initiatives and open discussion of major issues. For the ordinary public the two issues most prominent, at least in what I hear around me being talked about, are immigration and petty crime, both more or less out of control currently. Yet, or rather for this very reason, MPs don't want to discuss these issues frankly amongst themselves and wish to prevent the public (who they are supposed to represent) discussing these issues frankly. And this is before the new anti-Islamification bill comes into force. As someone said, why doesn't the Labour Party, closely followed by the Liberal Democrats, simply state that all other political options are by definition 'far right' and should be thus disallowed, while those who hold them should lose the right to vote. This is precisely, of course, what the Bolsheviks did in Russia when they closed down the elected Duma; there never was a 'revolution', only a coup d'etat. But Stalinism didn't come about at once, it was a slow creeping process which took eight years or so and, of course, it ate some of its own children (but that's not our problem). We've got to be very careful we don't give away power little by little to a Left wing state which will make itself invulnerable, and I'm being perfectly serious.
It's absolutely shocking that the present government is stealthily increasing its power over the individual always with the underlying assumption "We know better than you even or above all when it concerns you". This is creeping Stalinism and few people seem to care.
You're a shining light in a very dark place. Thank you for your courage and intellect.
Claire you know me.We worked together.
What a fabulous voice of reason you are. Thank you for your integrity.

And you do that so well 👏👏
